Poor management by the new owner. I say new... he has been there 10 years now. The previous owners had the lodge for 20 years. The were always able to find good help and ran a tight ship. The "new" owner doesn't stay on top of things like the previous owner, and he doesn't find the quality people like the old owner did.
Part of this may be because the "new" owner is not from the local area, rather several hundred miles south of the lodge. I believe the previous owners, who were local, were able to get the quality people from the local area.
The "new" owner offers up excuses for everything. The previous owner would take immediate action to remedy any issues.
