Not a steelhead but still awesome!

Postby NWIangler » Jun Wed 14, 2017 4:03 pm

Me and my friend took our kayaks out and fished burns ditch for some bass. We seen some shad jumping around and so my friend made a cast out and something immediately broke him off. So i made a cast and hooked what i thought was steel, but nope! It was a giant freshwater drum. I kept wondering why he wasnt jumping but i soon found out. Still it was a great fish and probably the biggest fish ive ever caught! Here is the video https://youtu.be/SssjDSw1UFA

Good job!! Caught one just like that on 4lb test while crappie fishing at Kentucky Lake. I wasn't in a kayak, but it was a bunch of fun and I still tell the story!! :thu

I think you should. The day i went out, people were catching tons of steelhead. I would have tried for them but all i had was was bass equipment.
