I don't see a problem with a daily bag limit. Hell I don't want to clean more than 25 a day anyway lol!

This link has some pretty interesting info on it. The pdf download shows indiana near the top in the country for out of state 5 day and annual fishing licence sales in 2015. I'm on a phone so I can't get the data to format/ load here properly.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the thread. It's something I feel pretty strongly about because we are surrounded by states with amazing fisheries for a lot of diff species and they ALL.HAVE.LIMITS. Seems the older I get the more I take conservation into consideration. And yes cleaning a hundred gills is an absolute nightmare. Takes a lot of cold beer to make me work that hard. I'd much rather clean two or three nice walleye.

The day Jill and I caught and kept 104 in 2011 I was three hours cleaning all of them, and that was using an electric filet knife.

We definitely need a limit. Slotting them would be nice as well. I would also like to see a slot or size limit on crappie.

Now we are talking something completely different when it comes to crappie. I have seen first hand what they can do to a fishery when not held in check.

Steve, I think the state is doing a trial run with size requirements on crappie at 3 lakes now. Not sure how long that lasts. Interesting to see what the results are.

I usually talk about Stafford but I got another private lake here as well. It is McPherson. Crappie have devastated that lake. It is rare for me to pull out a gill or even a bass. They are prolific reproducers and can over run a lake.

Interesting , never quite thought about it like that. Crappie are my favorite fish to fish for and eat so if you ever need them terminated "I'm your huckleberry"
