I'm going to go over this Sunday (24th) to pre-fish a little bit and work out any kinks. I'll give a report when I return.

I'm looking on Reserve America...most of the reservable spots are taken but there are a lot of 1st come 1st serve sites. I bet those are filled by Thursday morning given the fireworks are Sat night. Anyone going down early to get a spot? If not....I may be taking my camper down Wed or Thursday to make sure I get a spot. I could grab a spot for anyone in need.

Is bluegill the long one with the pond or the short one?

Bluegill is the long one with a pond. Most sites on left hand side are the 1st come sites across from the ones we have reserved.

Hit the water early today. Fished closer to the dam with water temps about 81. I found a little thermocline starting to set up a little farther up the lake, but the closer to the dam we got in disappeared completely. Majority of bait and fish were from the surface down to about 15'. Managed a few yellow's and white's, but no wipers. We found a few busting the surface up until about 10:30. Visibility is about 10'. Talked to a couple guys that had 3 in the box.

Side note, Fishin Shedd doesn't have, and won't have any big shiners. Problems from their supplier, so it'll be up to us to find bigger bait. The whites and yellows will wear out the 4" shiners that are available.

Thanks for the report. I spent last night getting rigged up so that I can quickly switch last minute if I obtain bait. I just want to give these guys the best shot at reeling one in. Some boats are gonna catch fish and some aren't.

As long as we all have a GREAT time it will be a success. If we get fish...thats a bonus.

Guys lets make sure we have all of our safety gear handy. If a guy feels he needs a life jacket, have a clean one handy.
Like doug says.. A fish in their hands is a bonus.. This is about getting the guys out, expressing our thanks. And also showing them that there are more ways to achieve happiness other than VA administered meds.

Definitely :) They will have a great time regardless.

I have a few extra jackets if anyone needs some.
