Got out today on some golf course ponds. Got on about 9 and got off about 4. Caught lots of dinks but did end up keeping 18 nice gills. I lost 1 fish that I have no idea what it was. Barely moved the bobber and I raised up and the fight was on...for about 5 seconds. I imagine it was a nice bass since I had already caught several small ones around 12 inches. I also wanted to play with a Vexilar I bought last year and never could figure out. Boogaloo tried explaining it to me Sunday and I thought I understood it. The problem I ran into today was the feedback. I turned it on had the lights. My scale goes to 20 feet. The settings has 2 for shallow and 3 for deep. I set it on the low one that goes to the 20'. I was fishing in 9 feet of water. Even before I turned on my gain to adjust the light settings I had a all color lines from 8 feet all the way around to 17 feet. I could see the green light as I raised and lowered my bait and when there were fish around. I just could not get rid of all the gain resolution. I was wondering if it was some kind of feedback because I was in shallow water. When I turned on the gain it really went nuts on colors. What do you guys who use a vexilar think ? Was it because of the shallow depth and I was getting such a high feedback ? Thanks for any help.
