hit the pond

Postby Zach R » Jan Sun 11, 2015 7:05 pm

Finally I made it out today to a small pond. There was 6in of good clear ice. Fishing wasn't the greatest but still great to get out. Managed to catch a few small gills and a 13in bass. couldn't seem to find them today. last year there were all stacked up on a tree that fell in the water but the fella that owns the pond pulled it out...so gonna have to find a plan B. Hopefully it doesn't get to warm next weekend. happy fishing

It was indeed. went out again today. only caught one but that beats a skunk. Going to try and find some fresh bait tomorrow if I don't work. Wall mart had a sale on bemoths buy one get two, I thought I could find enough live ones but not the case. Hopefully I can find some minnows. while im on the topic what is your go to bait for crappies? minnow, wax worm, anything? going to try another spot tomorrow that I know is loaded with big gills and crappie.

Well a waxworm will catch anything. Sometimes it's hard to beat a minnow for crappies? But got a good all around bait, hard to beat a waxie in my opinion......
