1/11 Monroe county pond

Postby hilly77p » Jan Sun 11, 2015 4:04 pm

Got out on a pond this morning. 4.5-5 inches everywhere I drilled. Took my brother with me and he got his first fish through the ice. Caught about 10 between the two of us. Nothing of size, but took a couple home for a snack.ImageImage

Stopped by Monroe on our way home. All water that can be seen from the dam is locked up. They are letting a lot of water out though. Image

He had a good time. He was talking about going to Michigan next winter, so he might be hooked. It sure did feel good to get out on the ice. Still trying to dial in my fish finder. It's gonna take a little more playing around to get it figured out though. Didn't take my new shanty out, I'm hoping to use it next weekend if I travel north. According to the long range forecast, ice might be done around here for awhile.

If I can get up there next weekend, where do you guys think I should go? I would probably leave here Saturday morning. Try to fish Saturday evening and all day Sunday before heading home Monday morning.
