I don't understand why you would want that slip sinker to slip all the way down to your jig/hook. But he caught gills so it does work.
Fisherman's Prayer
I pray that I may live to fish
Until my dying day
And when it comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net
And peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be Judged
BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

I am guessing it works like a jig weight for him. It would make me nervous having is slide up and down on a 2 lb test knot. Nice fish for sure. Excellent method. Been using it for 20 years.

You would have to go with a bead to protect the knot I would guess.

Chris has been fishing gills like that for years. The bell sinker helps him get the 2lb test line down fast fishing straight down. Really helps in the wind. The bell sinker also helps in brush piles. I use a real small crappie jig
tipped with wax worm. Both work great. Been frying a bunch up the last few weeks. Thanks :fishing:
