dang wish I had pike waters down around my way. One of these days I'll get a indiana pike. Floated a section of tippecanoe river last year had a couple of smallies but never managed any pike. I'll catch gar out of the rivers around my area and refer to them as southern pike
why does everything have to get in the way of fishing and hunting?

andy

The Tippy is probably your best bet. Pike, unlike Smalleys, don't like the current. So they will lie anywhere they can find out of the current. An undercut bank is a very good spot. Downed trees. River bends. Eddies. Anywhere there is slack in the current. Smalleys, on the other hand, will be in the current.

Thought that might help if you ever get to float it again.
What section did you float?
The upper portions seem to be better for pike.
