Percolator

Postby Prybis » May Sun 08, 2016 10:41 am

Looking at getting a percolator for camping. Want one I can use over fire or on a burner. Is the one anyone would recommend buying?

The basic aluminum pot with a glass top bulb is going to be the most common and rugged. But if you are a real coffee lover and you can pack something a little more fragile the enamel ones make a better cup of joe.

Looks like Coleman makes a real nice one that is double enamel coated for around 30 bucks on Amazon. I bet Cabelas would have it also.

Do you use a filter in your percolator?

Nope just put the coffee in the pot and add water. If you want to add a filter I suppose you could, but if you get the course grind made for percolators you don't need one lmhp.

I got one from Cabellas that was stainless, use it over a little coleman burner when icefishing. It has the stainless basket/stem in it. Put coffee in the basket and your good to go.
