Congrats wish I could say my opening day was as good. Went out to a section of hoosier national I've hunted a decent bit and have taken a two does from in the past. Fiance went with I set her with her crossbow in one area I went off a quarter mile or so from where I put her plenty of deer signs even saw a couple good rubs on my way out once it was light out, but we didn't see a thing except squirrels. We called it quits kind of early around 9:30 as we had plenty of work to do around the new place. Later that evening as I was finishing up stretching a run of wire fence in the back yard she brings some water out to me, I'm near a clearing in the woods behind us that leads down to my neighbors cattle pasture. I'm not paying much attention as I'm drinking water she tells look behind you. I look wouldn't you know a group of four deer are in that clearing two moms and two fawns are about 40-45 yards away just looking at me. If only I had her cross bow sitting out there with me at that time.
why does everything have to get in the way of fishing and hunting?
