My deer season so far

Postby fishlips » Dec Sun 03, 2017 5:17 pm

I have put in alot of time, passed on over a dozen small to average size bucks, just haven't seen anything big, passed lots big doe when I was buck huntin, saw not many doe when I was doe huntin, did get 1 doe so far.oh ya,I missed a big doe too.Anymore, the older I get,I get more out of outsmarting the BIG doe,as I ever have buck huntin,I think qthey are smarter and more wary .I think the doe are better eatin too , still have ML. season

Being an older hunter also, I find your thoughts very interesting.

was in my ground blind this morning, been hearing a pheasant a couple times this season in the marsh.today I heard him cocking off and saw him fly and land about 150 yd away.He slowly walked down the corn field edge towards my blind,at 1st I watched him with binocs then he just kept coming and walked right next to the blind and kept on walking,so I got a pic the best I could as it went by.That made my day,no deer so what, lol.

I use my jet sled for deer hunting too. It's great. Easy to drag (even if there is no snow!), makes it easier to load into the vehicle, and best of all, contains all the blood and stink, so cleanup is a snap
“Like winds and sunsets, wild things were taken for granted until progress began to do away with them. Now we face the question whether a still higher 'standard of living' is worth its cost in things natural, wild and free. For us of the minority, the opportunity to see geese is more important than television.”
