Buying Skein

Postby MJDEJONG11 » Oct Tue 17, 2017 10:01 am

I believe someone posted about a week ago that there is a bait shop in MC that you can buy skein and eggs from? Does anyone know if there are any others that sell them, maybe closer to Portage, Valpo area?

Thanks!

Chiefs Bait Shop in MC is the only place I know of for sure. Someone told me a bait shop in Lake Station also sells Skein and sacks. Although I've never been and don't know the name. Never heard of any shops in Valpo or Portage selling either. Doesn't mean they don't though. You could always call.

You can also buy it online from out west, or from Canada. It's where the baitshops are buying their stuff from

Or use spinners, shrimp, or jigs/waxworms until you catch a hen

Lots of options!

Great thing about steelhead is they eat a lot of different stuff
“Like winds and sunsets, wild things were taken for granted until progress began to do away with them. Now we face the question whether a still higher 'standard of living' is worth its cost in things natural, wild and free. For us of the minority, the opportunity to see geese is more important than television.”
