New from Texas

Postby ensignjason » Jun Sun 18, 2017 7:32 am

Any help or advice you guys can give is appreciated! I will be moving to NW Indiana in about 3 weeks and working in Homewood Il. In North Central Texas I fished for striper, hybrid striper, crappie and in the winter trophy blue cats. I will have my 20ft CC but also a kayak to fish out of. Thanks in advance.

Welcome!! I'm not from that area of the State, but there are many that are and may have some advice for those species in the NW.

welcome from Elkhart
Fisherman's Prayer
I pray that I may live to fish
Until my dying day
And when it comes to my last cast,
I then most humbly pray:
When in the Lord's great landing net
And peacefully asleep,
That in His mercy I be Judged
BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

That big boat will be good for the big lake you'll probably be able get into some lakers. If you find yourself in the southern part of the state hit me up for a river adventure. I'm a transplant as well grew up in Missouri.
why does everything have to get in the way of fishing and hunting?

Welcome from West Lafayette just South of you. There are good striper lakes in the southern part of the state and like others have said you should get on some Lakers in Lake Michigan. Regarding the kayak in River fishing just let me know when you want to hit up the Kankakee Iroquois or the Tippecanoe I'd be game to join you.
