greene-sullivan from the shore

Postby muskiematt » Jun Sun 18, 2017 3:13 pm

Camped over night this past Thursday at reservoir 26. Shore fished. It wasn't that good but not terrible either. Spent most of my time at airline but I fished chapel, hemlock, and res 26 also. I used night crawler and bee moth the whole time. The north ramp at airline was the most productive with 2 crappie and a large mouth. The shore drops off pretty nice there. I could've kept the crappie but the large mouth was too small. I didn't spend a lot of time at south ramp but there is a clearing by the county road that you can fish from close to the ramp. Pulled a couple of bluegill there. Hemlock and chapel pits were a waste of time to shore fish. I got a couple of stripers at res 26. I fished the causeway by where the little creek that runs next to the camp ground comes out. I decided on that spot because I saw good sized stripers in the creek. They must spawn there. Also, I did see a rainbow trout there at airline but I didn't pull any. They're probably few and far between now until stocking time next year.

Stripers in the GSSF? I've never heard of those being there.

I'm sorry it was a bad ID. Kinda looked like a striper but it only had one stripe not many. Don't think it was the hybrid either. Wish I had pics. I have no idea now. It was bass like, small, but different fin structure. Def no pan fish. Oversized minnow maybe? hahaha

white bass? I didn't thin those were in there but maybe? Possibly yellow bass.
why does everything have to get in the way of fishing and hunting?
