so I'm tore up about smallies and in my never ending pursuit of small mouth I have a decent looking creek near my new residents I have been meaning to try and see if it holds any. Well I finally took a long way home from work to park off bridge that crosses it and make a few quick cast. Well I didn't get any smallies, but I suspect it might have some I will have to try and fish it again. I didn't actually wade waders weren't with me and I didn't have a lot time only fished maybe 30-40 mins didn't get too far from the bridge had to get home to continue wiring the new shop. Anyways didn't feel like taking a tone of lures or changing much due to time so I went old school back to my child hood roots and threw on a little meps spinner that never seems to fail. I'm pretty sure as a kid growing up in MO any time my mom took my sister and I on a weekend float trip I solely threw little meps and roostertail spinners. I'd say 90% of my bass caught large and smallmouth as a kid were caught on little inline spinners. Wasn't till I was in highschool that I started to expand my tackle more.
Anyways didn't get any smallies but managed to get a bunch of the prettiest little pumpkin seed bluegill I've seen. Also got a couple of these I don't know what some kind of big minnow shiner type things. Managed two little largemouth bass. They were indeed largemouth bass not kentucky/spotted bass. Jaws extended past the eyes when closed and smooth tongue. The two largemouth were both only around 7-8", but bass and a good sign none the less. I imagine this creek might have some smallies I'll need to explore it more it seemed to have the right kind of habitat. I'll have to get a little more serious next time I try it out. Looking forward to this weekend camping at turkey run state park with the boy scout troop and doing a short float on sugar creek up there hopeful for some good smallies. Here are some pics of fish from the creek. If someone knows what the big minnow things are do enlighten me I'm not sure what they are I just know they make good catfish bait. I've caught them in creeks in the past then used them on white river for kitties.

why does everything have to get in the way of fishing and hunting?
